WHY RECYCLING
Every year, tonnes of ghost nets are discarded and abandoned in the seas and oceans. As reported by Ansa, the disposal of fishing nets is a very serious problem that has strong repercussions on the pollution of the seas. It is estimated that between 500,000 and 1,000,000 tons of nets are abandoned in the seas around the world, making up about 10% of marine litter and taking between 600 and 800 years for their deterioration. Once deteriorated, the nets become microplastics that poison marine ecosystems. Ghost nets also pose a very serious danger to marine animals that can get accidentally trapped in them and then die after a long agony. Recycling fishing nets is a responsible action for the preservation of the seas to progress towards a sustainable vision of man’s actions.
Commitment
Sapla srl is committed to promoting a circular economy whose objective is to reuse current resources in a way that does not compromise those for future generations. For this purpose it is essential to use waste materials to allocate them to new production cycles, minimizing waste and implementing a system that can regenerate itself thanks to the circularity of the processes.
Green Future
In the perspective of an increasingly green future, Circular Economy in the field of the disposal of plastics means:
Our Economics Model
We work to help change the traditional economic model based on the scheme “Extract – Produce – Use – Throw” in the sustainable model ” Collect – Recycle – Reuse”. This circular economy model promotes an effective and conscious use of materials and encourages a cycle of re-use in production. Recycling extends the life of products, resulting in a reduction in waste. In fact, the materials that constitute the products, at the end of their function, do not end up in landfills for incineration, but are recovered to be regenerated and destined for a new use.
